queer kiss

Queer Kiss is a collaborative photo project by LA-based publisher mixedgreens, to be published in Spring 2025.

The project centers the act of kissing as a symbol of celebration and queer joy. This anthology aims to place love at center of queer resistance and non-violent protest as a means of regaining agency over our own bodies, relationships, and experiences. Comprised of participant submissions via queerkiss.club and archival imagery of LGBTQIA+ individuals kissing, the project directly calls attention to a history and ongoing threat of cultural and political censorship. Through this project we hope to create a space of belonging to address issues of erasure and work towards expanding possibilities of intimacy.

Thank you to the photographers both unknown and credited above, for capturing these moments, and to the archives who continue to collect and preserve documentation of queer life. We’d also like to thank Kasia Herh, Alice Berliner and Ivy Benavente – without your support, this project wouldn’t be possible.
